Last week today was a small-achievements-day and as small-achievement-days go I didn’t have time to write about it.

I met someone I last saw 12 years ago, in school; he wore a uniform then, wears a uniform still. We talked about school and we laughed, then we talked about our current state and we laughed harder. I got over my grump of ‘how come people get to be in one school all their lives, go for reunions and say things like “we’ve known each other for 20 years”, laugh about an old prank and attend each other’s weddings. That day I also became a member of a library. This is a big deal because I have committed not only to remembering dates and returning things on time, I have also committed to being unattached- To read a book and be able to give it back. Not underline things that I want to keep going back to. And before coming to the office today I signed up for morning yoga classes- I agreed to wake up early in the morning and stretching my body in painful postures while trying to stay awake. Also, I ate half a pizza.
