I never lived in one city long enough for friends to become best friends, to have a favorite spot, or store, and never did I have that one wall to grow against for 15 years straight. When I came to Pune, I felt at home for the first time and I started exploring it like you do a new lover’s body, her company, her moods.

I like…sorry…love looking for books in different bookstores. I have been all over Pune looking for a Stephen Fry book. I have bought 10 books in the process. 10 beautiful books. I read Matilda on a street bench today. And I still have not got my hands on Stephen Fry. But this search makes me happy.
While I type this, I can hear someone talk about how happy seeing Amazon’s ‘out for delivery’ message makes them.

I spent the last week walking the streets of Pune. From Koregaon park to Laxmi Road. I ate the food, went to places of worship, and definitely visited the markets. When in Leh I climbed a hill or two and went to the beach in Pondicherry and palaces in Jodhpur. But when it’s all done, I am back in my room and reach for something to miss before bed, I miss walking on the streets the most. Always.
